The Tikkun Olam series has as its intent prayers for healing and peace. The work looks at the image and iconography of the hand and other symbols, as they are used in world cultures to express healing and prayer. Included in the works is the use of the ‘hamsa’, a hand-shaped amulet worn to ‘ward off the Evil Eye,’ reflected in both Middle East and Jewish culture.
