Shadur has been the Curator for several other national and international exhibitions. In 2005, she co-curated,
with Scottish artist Miriam Vickers, an international exchange exhibition between the artists of ARC Gallery,
Chicago, and those of Patriothall Gallery, Edinburgh, Scotland. The exhibition in Edinburgh was a featured
exhibition of the 2005 Edinburgh Festival. Among the other exhibitions Shadur has curated has been
"Environmental Concerns," at Artemisia Gallery, Chicago, IL, with works addressing issues of the environment
and man's impact on it; "East Meets West," and "West Meets East," two exhibitions featuring women artists
from both coasts of Florida, for the Florida Women's Caucus for Art.
In 1996, Shadur co-curated "Deep Water," (with Inez Hollander) an exhibition of works in water-based media.
This exhibition challenged perceptions of what is defined as watercolor. The exhibition featured works which
takes watercolor beyond the common idea that it is a medium of beauty, to paint 'pretty pictures,' but instead as
a medium to approach a contemporary image that can challenge. Included in this exhibition were works by
such artists as Sondra Freckelton, Patricia Tobacco-Forrester, Miriam Karp, Lisa Englander, Helen Klebesadel,
and Gladys Nilsson, all heavy-hitters known as masters of the medium.

Beth Shadur has been active as an independent curator of exhibitions since 1994. Currently, she is working on
The Poetic Dialogue Project, which has been the creation of several collaborative exhibitions between visual
artists and poets. The first Poetic Dialogue: Poetry: Women: Art exhibition featured 21 artists from ARC Gallery
in Chicago, a women's cooperative gallery where Shadur was a member and eventually Executive Director in
2004-5. Shadur conceived of the exhibition, where visual artists made work in response to the poetry of 6
American contemporary women poets, while in residence at the Ragdale Foundation. Here, Shadur began to
collaborate with Arizona poet, Lois Roma-Deeley, and decided to bring the concept of visual work in dialogue
with poetry to her fellow cooperative members at ARC. The 2004 exhibition, first shown at ARC Gallery,
toured the country, and was made part of the 2004 Chicago Humanities Festival. The Project has included
programs at each venue of dialogues between artist and poet on the creative process, and poetry readings.
The Poetic Dialogue Project continued in 2005 with a new exhibition of collaborative works. Here, 10
American women poets wrote poetry in response to the works of the 21 artist members of ARC Gallery. This
second exhibition, shown at ARC in 2005, is currently touring several university venues in the United States.
The Project was featured at the International Conference on Arts in Society in Edinburgh, Scotland in summer
of 2006, and will be published soon in the International Journal of Arts in Society from Australia.

Shadur is currently working on the next exhibition of The Poetic Dialogue Project, which features 31 pairs of
international artists and poets, who are teamed to work together on an actual collaborative work of art
integrating visual art and text. The exhibition will premiere at the Chicago Cultural Center in January-March
2009, and will travel to various universities and museums through 2010.
